How the hybrid AI works
On-device AI — light, everyday tasks run in your browser on your own hardware. Private and instant; your records live on your device and nothing leaves the machine. Works offline once the model is cached.
Cloud AI, privately — genuinely hard tasks (and devices that can't run a local model) use our OCI server. But first your personal details are redacted on your device — names, emails, account numbers become placeholders — and are restored only on your screen. The cloud does the heavy reasoning; it never sees who it's about.
You never pick a mode — the app sends each task to the fastest private option automatically: on your device when it can, the cloud (redacted) when the task truly needs it. Your subscription checks in about once a month to stay active, with a generous offline grace period so travel and flaky connections won't lock you out mid-work.
